There are two distinct things you can gift other Roll20 users.

Subscription

• Gift a Roll20 Subscription - you can gift other users Roll20 subscription or credit to use on subscription.
• subscription credit can only be used on subscription, not to buy from marketplace

Marketplace

• Marketplace Gift^(Market) - you can gift people Marketplace items. Make sure to check if they have a public Wishlist.
