The Place-light-torch-icon.png Place Light Tool will create a token shining light, on whatever layer you currently have selected. In Jan. 2023 it was integrated into the new Place Tool, which also can place Door & Window.

The Place Light Tool in use
Roll20:Place Light Tool showcase

The placed token will by default:

  • emit Bright Light for 20 feet
  • emit Low Light for 20 feet

After placement, the light settings can be changed in the token settings like any other Token.

If you've already created a number of Characters with default tokens with preset lighting, this feature doesn't bring you much, as those already. It's more to give a quick & universal tool to place them in any game, like t Dice Rolling GUI is for quick rolls.
